DETECTION OF WAX IN DEWAXING STAGE

PURPOSE:To detect the crystal of wax leaking to the inside of permeating oil in a dewaxing stage by sampling periodically the permeating oil and observing the permeating oil by using a polarizing microscope. CONSTITUTION:The quality of the permeating oil subjected to dewaxing is inspected by observing the permeating oil sampled into a prescribed vessel by each lot by using a polarizing microscope while said oil is maintained at <=10 deg.C to prevent the melting of the fine crystal of the wax. If the fine crystal does not exist in the permeating oil, the polarized light applied to the sample is not de- polarized and the entire surface is projected black. If even a slight crystal exists therein, the shadow image of the crystal is distinctly projected in relief and the presence of the fine crystal is detected.
