PURPOSE:To provide a heat transfer material imparting good quality printing even onto a recording medium with poor surface smoothness, wherein a thermal transfer ink layer consists of a colorant, an oil agent, a blowing agent and a binder and at least the former two are dispersed throughout the binder in a microencapsulated state. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer ink layer 3, which consists of a clorant (e.g., carbon black or toluidine red), an oil agent liquid or semi-solid at an atmospheric temp. (e.g., cotton seed oil or polyethylene glycol), a blowing agent (e.g., MgCO3 or BaN6) and a heat-meltable binder (e.g., paraffin wax or polyethylene) 4 and contains at least the former two among the aforementioned colorant, the oil agent and the blowing agent in a state dispersed in the aforementioned binder 4 as microcapsules 5 each usually having a particle size of 0.1-10mum, is formed on a support 2 to obtain the objective heat transfer material 1. |
