The goods are moved on feed and take-off sections (1,6c) of a roller conveyor between two successive stations (3,5) formed by roller conveyor sections mounted on turntables. Foil (10) is unwound around vertical rollers (8) at the first station (3) as the pallet (2) is rotated and the pallet is moved to the second station (5) pulling the foil with it. At the same time a roof shaped foil sheet (11) is placed on top from an overhead supply device (9.13). The sloping edges are enclosed by the verticalfoil at the second station as the pallet is rotated during a second stage. At the same time, the next pallet is passed to the first station for a repetition of the cycle.
