This device, intended to be inserted between two sections of a lance conveying this matter in a carrier gas, particularly a lance for guniting, consists of a cylindrical chamber 5 in which a mechanical pulveriser 8 is arranged, provided at one end with a jet 9 with a solid cone 10 coaxial with the chamber 5 and pointed in the direction of flow of the matter and connected to a source supplying water under pressure, the cylindrical chamber 5 being connected to the sections 2, 3 of the lance by frustoconical portions, divergent 6 and convergent 7 respectively in the direction of flow of the matter, so that the flow section of the chamber 5 is substantially equal to that of the lance sections 2, 3. <IMAGE>
