PURPOSE:To sterilize bacteria adhered to a filter and to remove the offensive odor of dust adhered to the filter, by providing an ozone adding apparatus to the upstream side of the filter. CONSTITUTION:Dirty inflow air from the inlet 2 of an air duct 1 passes a screen 5 to separate coase dust therein and the treated air is passed through a nonwoven fabric filter 4 to remove dust, virus, bacteria or fungi by collecting and adhering the same by said filter 4. An ozone adding apparatus such as an Ozonizer 7 is provided between the screen 5 and the filter 4 and a high frequency wave is applied between the plane electrode (a) embedded in a dielectric body 8 and the wire corona discharge electrode 10 on the surface thereof and ozone is generated by corona discharge to be added to the air stream. The ozone added air passes the filter 4 to sterilize bacteria adhered to said filter 4. Because an activated carbon filter 12 is provided to the downstream side of the filter 4, ozone passing the filter 4 is converted to carbon dioxide in said filter 12 while the treated air is exhausted from an outlet 3. |
