Apparatus and method for producing boreholes in the ground in direct proximity to obstacles adjacent to the borehole

The apparatus consists of a mast (1) arranged on an excavator (2) and having a guide rail (3) on which two rotary drives (4, 5) are arranged in a displaceable manner one above the other for driving a casing tube (13) and a drilling tool (12) working in the protection of the casing tube (13). The rotary drives (4, 5) are driven by high-torque motors (14, 15) without speed reduction so that small slewing rings can be used. This enables casing tubes (13) of small diameter to be used in direct proximity to an obstacle. Through the use of an auxiliary borehole it is possible to use single-section casing tubes (13), corresponding to the length of the mast (1), and single-section drilling tools (12). <IMAGE>
