PURPOSE:To obtain a serial device which easily handles the reference wavelength of a device which sends out a serial signal by providing a feeder part wavelength calculating means and a storage means which calculate a value corresponding to the average of the wavelength of a feeder part and store the calculation result when the feeder part is detected. CONSTITUTION:It is judged firstly whether a key for setting a loading mode for reading data out of an external storage device is inputted or not form a keyboard 1. Then, a read of the serial input signal outputted from the external storage device is started, the time of the timer incorporated in a CPU 5 is stored, and the measurement of the time up to the next rising of the signal is started. Then, it is judged whether the signal rises next or not, and when so, the time of the timer is written in an RAM 4 and the wavelength value from the leading edge of the signal detected previously to that of the signal detected this time is calculated. The time of the timer is written in the RAM 4 and the written wavelength value is calculated. |
