PURPOSE:To prevent a wrong address from being detected even if part of an address signal of low frequency becomes absent in passing through a regenerative equalizer circuit, and to make a program search with invariably high precision by expressing one logical level with the 1st burst part and the 1st blank part and the other logical level with the 2nd burst part and the 2nd blank part. CONSTITUTION:Mark signals 2 and 3 consisting of a burst part of 16 waves and a blank part which is as long as four wave are recorded between points (a) and (b), and (c) and (d) on a track 1 of a magnetic tape on which signals of 16, 12 and four waves are recorded at slanting-line parts, and an address signal 4 is recorded between the points (b) and (c). When the tape runs as shown by an arrow (e), the mark signal 2 indicates the start of the following address signal 4 and the mark signal 3 indicates the end of the address signal 4. When the tape runs as shown by an arrow (f), the mark signal 3 indicates the start of the following address signal 4 and the mark signal 2 indicates the end of the address signal 4. |
