In the case of a vacuum operated brake booster the control housing with the disc valve (1) for controlling the differential pressure has two control housing sections (2 and 4) telescopically displaceable in opposition to one another, the first control housing section (2), which is fixed on the rolling diaphragm (18) with diaphragm plate (19) in the release position bearing by way of the valve seal seat (12) on the end sealing face (11) of the disc valve (1) held by the first control housing section (2). On its side remote from the sealing face (11), the disc valve is equipped with a stop (8) which with the interposing of a sleeve (36) bears on the second control housing section (4) which in turn is held by the booster housing (7) by way of a seal ring (5). In order to minimise the influence of the atmospheric pressure on the external faces of the disc valve (1), the disc valve (1) on its section (D) remote from the sealing face (11) is provided with an all-round annular sealing lip (40) projecting radially outwards over the section (D), which lip bears on the cylindrical inner face (46) of the second control housing section (4) forming a seal. <IMAGE>
