An injection mould with rectangular basic shape has a mould region on the gate side as well as on the injector side. At least one mould region has additional mould plates, for example two distance strips, disposed between a mounting plate and a cavity plate. The former are disposed at a parallel distance from one another as well as along opposite first rectangular sides of the mounting plate and cavity plate. Two bores (guiding means bore, retaining screw bore), which are parallel to one another and orthogonally penetrate, at least partly, all mould plates, are provided in each of the corner regions of the mould plates as well as in each of the end regions of the distance strips. The two distance strips themselves or two other distance strips can alternatively be inserted diagonally along the opposite second rectangular sides of the mounting plate and cavity plate. Each corner region of the mould plates receives the guiding means bore and the retaining screw bore within a rectangular contoured cross-sectional area. This is disposed within the projection on the corner region of the mould plates of an overlapping surface of two adjacent distance strips, which can alternatively be inserted diagonally, or is congruent with the projection of this overlapping surface. One and the same set of mould plate standard units is used irrespective of whether an injector plate assembly is located in one position or in another position pivoted through 90 DEG .
