The jacquard loom has a hollow carrier column (8) which is arranged in the vertical longitudinal mid-plane (E) of the jacquard loom. The carrier column (8) is located behind a weaving region (10) and contains a jib (12) which projects beyond the weaving region (10) and on which the jacquard device (14) is arranged. A simple construction of the jacquard loom and unimpeded access to the weaving region (10) are thereby provided. <IMAGE>
