PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform automatic detection without contact precisely and quickly, by coarsely detecting the positions of a plurality of recesses on the surface of a work by a coarse position detector, and precisely detecting the positions of the recesses by a precise position detector based on the detected signal. CONSTITUTION:Many recesses 2(2-1-2-3) are formed on the surface of a work 1. A coarse position detector 6 having reflection type light detectors is provided on a running table 5 on rails 3 and 4. A TV camera 13, which is precise position detector, is arranged on a running table 12. In this constitution, the coarse position detector 6 is moved and the coarse positions of the recesses 2 are detected. Bases on the detected signals, the TV camera 13 is moved, the recesses 2 are scanned, the precise positions of the recesses 2 are detected by the image pattern, the detected signals are computed, and the positions of the recesses are outputted. Therefore, the positions of the screw holes and the like in furniture can be automatically detected without contact precisely and quickly. |
