Building element made of plastic for a cavity floor covering to be set on a reinforced-concrete floor slab, consisting of a carrying plate and moulded-on supporting elements which are arranged according to a modular dimension, are provided with a lower resting face and form, between them, the cavity of the floor covering. The carrying plate and the supporting elements are designed as sound-deadening elements and consist, including the resting faces, of a foamed plastic. The foamed plastic on the side of the cavity preferably has a sound-absorbing structure. <IMAGE>
