Device for adjusting and fixing a windowpane, especially in a motor vehicle, by means of a rope looping round a rope pulley and of a bolt which is rotatably mounted coaxially relative to the rope pulley and which projects from one end face of the rope pulley with a portion intended for engagement, characterised in that the rope pulley has, on the other end face, first rotation-preventing elements which are to be brought by the rotation of the bolt by a predetermined amount, counter to the force of a spring arrangement, out of engagement with second rotation-preventing elements on the inside of the bottom of a first housing part surrounding the rope pulley.
