PURPOSE:To enable to obtain a coloring matter image with a high transfer density and to maintain the image to be resistant to heat, light or the like, by providing a recording layer comprising a polyvinyl chloride. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer comprising polyvinyl chloride is provided. The polyvinyl chloride is a polymer obtained by irradiating vinyl chloride with light or alpha rays or by subjecting vinyl chloride to suspension, lump, emulsion, homogeneous solution or heterogeneous solution polymerization or other similar polymerization, in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a free radical of an peroxide or the like. An addition of a plasticizer contributes to not only imparting plasticity but enhancing transferring efficiency of a coloring matter and light resistance of a transferred image. A stabilizer, e.g., a metallic soap, is preferably added to the recording layer to prevent decomposition or denaturation due to dehydrochlorination of polyvinyl chloride from occurring. Because of the appropriate polarlity of polyvinyl chloride, the recording layer exhibits excellent adaptability for thermal transfer and exhaustion of an azomethine dye or an indoaniline dye. |
