PURPOSE:To prevent offensive smells from being developed, by incorporating a normally solid perfume into a thermal color forming layer in a thermal recording material which layer comprisies a leuco dye and a color developer. CONSTITUTION:A normally solid perfume having a melting point of not lower than 50 deg.C is incorporated in the thermal color forming layer. By the addition of a slight amount of the perfume, the offensive smells developed from a molten material of the color forming layer are removed, and fragrance is set force. The perfume may be gamma-terpineol, d-isomenthol, camphene or the like. One or more leuco dyes are used either singly or in combination. The leuco dye used here is a leuco compound of a dye based on triphenylmethane or the like, which is conventionally used in this kind of thermal recording material. By the addition of the perfume to the thermal color forming layer, the smells of chemicals developed form the layer in normal conditions are removed or masked, and the smells of chemicals developed from the molten material when the layer is heated are also removed or masked. |
