Plastics hollow profile rod and process for the production thereof

A plastics hollow profile is provided with an inserted metal reinforcing profile. The parts of the reinforcing profile adjacent to the hollow profile walls have outwardly projecting protrusions, which are blade-like or taper to a point. As a result of a mechanical stress released after the introduction of the metal reinforcing profile into the plastics hollow profile or only then applied, these protrusions penetrate into the interior wall region of the plastics-hollow profile and form a frictional connection. This prevents a subsequent shrinking of the plastics hollow profile. In addition the high coefficient of linear expansion is no longer effective, but only the substantially lower one of the metal.
