Broadband antennas can be tuned only within certain limits over their entire frequency range, with the result that there remains a residual mismatch to the characteristic impedance of the feed line. An improvement in matching is known to be produced by circuitry measures at the antenna feed point. These measures cause difficulties when the antenna is to be used over a large frequency range and its internal feed system is not accessible or does not permit any essential improvement in matching. It is therefore the object of the invention to improve the matching of a broadband antenna with measures which can be applied outside the antenna feed point. This is achieved according to the invention by providing for each mistuned single frequency resonance capacitors along the supply line at a spacing of half a wavelength in a number sufficient to achieve matching. <IMAGE>
