Housing for loudspeakers

The housing (11) for PA loudspeakers used in the open or in large rooms or halls is designed in such a manner that it can also be used as transport container in addition to accommodating the loudspeakers for their operation. A holding plate (18) with recesses (19) for the installation of the loudspeakers (20) is attached in a moisture-proof manner in the housing (11) and covers the clear opening (17) of the latter. During the transportation, a lid (24) closes the clear opening (17) of the housing (11). The lid (24) can be locked to the housing (11) but is constructed to be detachable from the latter. To stabilise the resonance of the housing (11), indentations (13 and 14) are provided in the side walls (12) and raised portions (16) are provided in the bottom (31). Indentations (26) corresponding to the shape and size of the raised portions are worked into the lid (24) so that housings (11) provided with a lid (24) can be stacked in a space-saving manner. <IMAGE>
