<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a colored layer optionally changeable in color and optionally and continuously changeable in color density and free from any pattern slip by forming an electrodeposited colored layer on a conductive layer formed on a base in a soln. contg. an electrodepositable polymer and a dye, and controlling film thickness of the colored layer with control electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A patterned transparent conductive film 2 is formed on a base 1. The base 1, a stainless steel plate 7, and mesh-shaped control electrodes 8, 8' are immersed in an electrodepositing bath 6 prepared by dispersing a dye hardly or not soluble in water into an aq. soln. of an electrodepositable polymer solubilized by neutralizing a polymer having carboxy groups with an inorg. alkali or the like. A colored layer is deposited on the conductive layer 2 and its film thickness is controlled by impressing voltage ot the layer 2 as an anode, and the plate 7 as a cathode, and further, impressing proper voltage to the control electrodes 8, 8', and moreover, a kind of color of the colored layer can be optionally changed by selecting dyes having various colors.</p> |
