<p>PURPOSE:A polycarbonate suitable for molding easily a large-sized molded article by injection compression molding, having specific viscosity-average molecular weight, ratio of weight-average molecular weight to number-average molecular weight, flow value, high specific strength and good appearance. CONSTITUTION:A polycarbonate having 24,000-35,000, preferably 26,000-30,000 viscosity-average molecular weight (Mv), a molar ratio (Mw/Mn) of weight- average molecular weight (Mw) to number-average molecular weight (Mw) of 1.9-3.6, preferably 2.5-3.4 and 0.010-0.055ml/sec., preferably 0.015-0.040ml/ sec flow value. In the preparation of this polycarbonate, well-known preparation processes (e.g., phosgene process, ester exchange process, etc.) are used, an aromatic polycarbonate using an aromatic hydroxy compound such as bisphenol A as a starting raw material is preferably used, and its molded article is usable as a windshield for motorcycles, rear window for automobiles, etc.</p> |
