PURPOSE:To perform treatment from a thin sheet to a thick plate with one unit of roller leveler by preparing preliminarily plural roller units in using leveling rolls of the roller pitches changed according to the plate thicknesses and exchanging and mounting the leveling rolls according to need. CONSTITUTION:This invention relates to a roll unit 10 formed of a pair of upper and lower roll carriages 1, leveling roll groups 2 and backup roll groups which contact with the roll groups 2. The plural carriages 1 corresponding to the thicknesses of the plates to be processed, for example, the rolls 2 having the pitches equal to the pitch P of driving spindles 8, 2/3 the pitch P and 1/2 the pitch P are preliminarily prepared. The rolls 2 of each unit 10 are so set that the rolls are revolved in the same direction by distributing gear units 4 and the main shafts 3a of the units 4 are connected to couplings 5 of universal joints. The processing from a thin sheet to a thick plate is thus made possible with one unit of the roller leveler. |
