<p>PURPOSE:To improve remarkably the efficiency in removing COD and BOD in waste water by gradually increasing the temp. of aeration of an activated sludge process at a specified rate to produce the acclimatization effect of microbes and making the aeration at high temp. possible. CONSTITUTION:When waste water contg. org. matter is supplied into an aeration tank and treated with activated sludge, treatment with activated sludge is previously carried out at <=30 deg.C in the aeration tank, the temp. of the treatment is increased to 35-45 deg.C at the rate of <=1 deg.C/day and then the treatment is carried out at 35-45 deg.C. Namely, since the aeration temp. is increased at the rate of <=1 deg.C/day, the microbes are acclimatized and the treatment at the high temp. of 35-45 deg.C is made possible, the efficiency in removing COD and BOD in waste water is remarkably improved and the cost of cooling equipment can be remarkably reduced. Furthermore, aeration by oxygen can be economically conducted by this method and industrial waste water contg. chlorine compds. can be economically treated.</p> |
