PURPOSE:To ensure a stable touch of a head even with a long period of use by forming a pad surface having a curvature approximately in the circumferential direction of a sheet on the contact surface between a pad and the sheet and producing air films between the pad and the sheet. CONSTITUTION:Pads 3a and 3b having a curvature R approximately in the circumferential direction (revolving direction) of a sheet 2 are provided to hold the sheet 2 between at the opposite side to a head 1 and at both sides of the head 1 moving in the radius direction of the sheet 2. Thus air films 4a and 4b are produced during revolutions of the sheet 2 between pads 3a and 3b and the sheet 2. Therefore the sheet 2 is never damaged by pads 3a and 3b, and at the same time a satisfactory contact is obtained with a head. The grooves 24 are formed on the pad surface in order to prevent the pads 3a and 3b from sticking to the sheet 2 in a static mode. This ensure a more stable touch of a head even in a start/stop mode. |
