PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive high speed and high quality color printer, by fixing metal wires each having insulating film to the grooves provided to a metal plate, and using the metal wires as recording electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A large number of grooves are provided to a metal plate 15 at equal intervals and recording electrodes 201 each having an insulating film 11 are embedded in said grooves and fixed by a (conductive) adhesive or solder 14. A plurality of these metal plates are laminated and recording electrodes are arranged to form a recording head. The metal plate 15 is used as a return electrode 101 to surround the recording electrodes 201-203 and adjacent recording electrodes are simultaneously and independently driven. By changing energy to be charged, area modulation can be applied to a recording dot. |
