PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of tracking control in a reproduction time and to attain the interchangeability among devices by performing the tracking control of a rotary head in a normal reproduction time or a variable speed reproduction time including a double speed, triple speed, etc. CONSTITUTION:In a normal reproduction time the signals extracted out of a tape 2 by rotary heads 1A and 1B are supplied to a switch circuit 19 and then switched alternately between a half revolving period tA including the tape contact period of the head 1A and a half revolving period tB including the tape contact period of the head B like a recording time by the switch signal given from a timing signal generating circuit 10. Thus an intermittent PCM signal SR is obtained for each segment. This signal SR is supplied to a reproduction processor and demodulated to the original PCM signal to be supplied to a decoder. Then the data is detected for each block by the block synchronizing signal, and at the same time the error correction, the deinterleave, etc. are carried out to reset the PCM signal to an analog audio signal by a D/A converter. This audio signal is sent to the output side. |
