摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain a high efficiency for drawing out the main flow of exhaust gas over a wide range of operation, by employing a structure of a variable ejector in which the outlet of a by-pass passage by-passing an exhaust turbine for a turbocharger or the like is formed in the manner of surrounding the outlet passage of the turbine annularly. CONSTITUTION:When the outlet pressure of a compressor of a turbocharger is lower than a prescribed by-pass starting pressure, a plunger 38 of a diaphragm type actuator 37 is moved to the right and a variable nozzle member 24 is moved to the left by a pivotally moved lever 36, so that a variable nozzle 33 is closed completely. Resultantly, in an exhaust turbine 11, all of the exhaust gas of an engine is passed through a turbine wheel 12 and then discharged to an outlet passage 25. On the other hand, the outlet pressure of the compressor becomes higher than a prescribed value, the plunger 38 is moved to the left and the variable nozzle member 24 is moved to the right, so that the variable nozzle 33 is opened. Resultantly, part of the exhaust gas is discharged from a by-pass passage 22 to the by-pass passage 25 via the variable nozzle 33.</p>
