PURPOSE:To generate an abnormality signal to improve the safety and the fixability by detecting indirectly abnormalities of overshoot and temperature control ripple. CONSTITUTION:The temperature detection signal from a thermistor 103 is inputted from an input port A1 and is subjected to A/D conversion to obtain a digital value. The surface temperature of a fixing roll is discriminated on a basis of this value by following steps 203-208. Until it is discriminated that the detected temperature of the thermistor 103 exceeds a prescribed temperature, the power supply operation where a halogen heater H1 is turned on/off in every other AC cycle is performed. Thereafter, when the thermistor 103 detects a temperature higher than the prescribed temperature, the heater is turned off, and a timer is set, and a temperature monitor data recording memory is cleared. |
