<p>PURPOSE:To prevent wrinkling of papers and to enable cleaning action, too, by installing a tapered guide roll in front of a heating roll near the roll or in pressed contact with it. CONSTITUTION:A support paper 5 holding a toner image 6 is conveyed in the arrow direction and passed between a heating roll 1 and a guide roll 12, and heated there. The paper 5 advances further between the roll 1 and a pressing roll 2 and pressed and heated there. The contact time between the paper 5 and the roll 1 is thus lengthened and fixing performance is enhanced. When the paper 5 passes between the rolls 1, 12, since the roll 12 is formed with a tapered heat-resistant elastic layer 14 larger in diameter on the middle part than on the end part, and the paper is stretched in the direction at right angles to the advancing direction of the paper 5, wrinkling of the paper can be effectively prevented.</p> |
