PURPOSE:To enable stable and automatic pouring by supplying a molten metal from a ladle having a sectorial shape to the molten metal inflow port having approximately an inverted conical shape of a casting mold, measuring the transverse size of the top surface of the molten metal in the inflow port and controlling automatically the supply rate of the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:A ladle 1 having a sectorial shape 1 is tilted toward R pivoting at a pouring port 3 thereof to pour a molten metal to the molten metal inflow port 6 of a casting mold 4. The molten metal is detected with a detector 10. The tilting of the ladle 1 is stopped when the ladle 1 is tilted to the angle at which the molten metal of the amt. larger than the required amt. can be tapped upon lapse of the set time. The molten metal flows out via the port 3 to the port 6. The transverse sizes (a), (b) at the top surface of the molten metal in the port 6 are detected and measured with a detector 11. If the actually measured value is larger than the preset transverse size of a specified range, the ladle 1 is tilted backward by the set time to decrease the outflow rate of the molten metal and when the value is smaller than said size, the ladle is tilted by the set time to increase the outflow rate. Such operation is repeated to corect the outflow rate so that the outflow rate of the molten metal is controlled to a specified range. |
