PURPOSE:To make it possible to use an FIFO register and to simplify the constitution of a device by sequentially converting data on respective lines of a source image. CONSTITUTION:The 1st digital differential analyzer (DDA) 8 interpolates the coordinates strings of grating points constituting a straight line on a converted image corresponding to one line on the source image so that two straight lines obtained by converting the coordinates of the start point and end point of one line on the source image based on the equality (1) are coupled in a 4-coupling or 8-coupling mode and generates the interpolated result successively. The 2nd DDA 9 generates a write signal for writing a source image reading signal and picture element data read out by said reading signal in the coordinates generated from the 1st DDA 8 based on the number of picture element data included in the line of the source image and the number of picture elements on the converted image corresponding to the line and executes image conversion at every line. The output of the 2nd DDA 9 is led to an unshown FIFO register.
