PURPOSE:To correctly polish the cutter edge without removing the cutter from a stationary base by reciprocatively sliding a slide bed frame provided with a rotary grindstone beneath it on the stationary base in the length direction of the cutter fitted to the stationary base for polishing. CONSTITUTION:To polish the edge (c) of a cutter (a) fitted to a stationary base (b), a rotary adjusting handle 8 is rotated to adjust the position of the polishing surface of a grindstone 12 against the cutter (c). Then, the inner surface of a guide plate 21 brings the grindstone 12 invariably in contact with the edge (c) of the cutter (a) with the side end section of the stationary base (b) serving as a guide face, and under this condition, a motor 13 is driven, a bed frame 1 is manually held and reciprocatively slided two or three times on the stationary base (b) in the length direction of the stationary base (b), and the edge (c) of the cutter (a) is polished over its length. Thereby, the cutter can be directly polished without being removed from the stationary base, the rest time of wood machining is shortened, and the work efficiency can be improved. |
