PURPOSE:To automatically cover the disclosed part of a developing roll when a developing device is detached from the main body of an electrophotographic copying machine, by opening or shutting a cover in accordance with its loading or unloading. CONSTITUTION:When the main body 20 of a developing device is pulled out in the axial direction, a pin 49 is moved along the guide groove 21 of a guide plate 21, and a cover 41 is turned clockwise by the energized force of a spring 48. As a result, the device 20 is detached from the main body of an electrophotographic copying machine, the disclosed part of the developing roll 23 of the device 20 is covered automatically to prevent scattering of a developer at the times of its loading and unloading. |
