PURPOSE:To prevent scattering of toner at the time of detaching a developing device by rotating a developing sleeve in the direction reverse to that in the developing time to scrape it off from the surface of the sleeve. CONSTITUTION:When a holder lever 14 is released to detach a developing device from an image forming apparatus, the device swings anticlockwise by its dead weight around a fixing member 15 as a pivot. Power receiving terminals 10p, 10m are brought into contact with power supplying terminals 11p, 11m to rotate a developing sleeve 3 with a motor in the direction reverse to that in the developing time. A toner remaining on the surface of the sleeve 3 is scraped off with a scraper 8 in a toner receiver 1 by the rotation, and scattering of the toner is prevented, and stains due to the toner around the image forming apparatus are also prevented. |
