The joint is of the mortice and tenon type and each of its constituent parts is identical, i.e. rather than comprising a mortice or a tenon each part combines both capabilities. - Each part incorporates a number of identical square section tenons of which at least one incorporates a corner of the parent member, the number of tenons being the product of a whole number squared. The disposition of the tenons is such that the tenons associated with conjunctive members inter-penetrate one another to form L,T, or X-shaped joints in one or more planes.
