<p>Mastic adhesive, based on synthetic resin and a slow-polymerising solvent, is used in the holes in sleeper to fill all the cavities between the thread of screw and the sleeper, the excess leaving through the upper part and forming a closure seal. The adhesive forms a compact solid which supports the vibrations transmitted by the rails.</p> |
