PURPOSE:To aim at rapidly raising the temperature of a catalyst converter and as well at preventing the same from deteriorating, by disposing a member for absorbing and removing detrimental metal within exhaust gas, in an exhaust passage in parallel with a bypass passage. CONSTITUTION:Since a selector valve 11 takes a second position P2 when an engine is cold, exhaust gas flows through a bypass valve 10 to raise the temperature of a catalyst converter 9. Meanwhile, the selector valve 11 takes a first position P1 when the engine is in conditions other than the cold condition, and therefore, exhaust gas flows through a turbine 7 and an absorbing member 8. Accordingly, supercharging is carried out, and deterimental metal is absorbed in the abosorbing member 8 and therefore, removed. |
