A machine tool comprising a housing 10 with cylindrical outer surface 16 to which is fitted a heat-shielding protective member in the form of a hexagonal spring 18. The latter is fitted in a helical groove 17 on the outer surface 16 of the housing so that the coils or winding turns of the spring 18 are held parallel but separate from one another. Each winding turn of the spring 18 is in contact with the cylindrical outer surface 16 of the housing at only six contact points 19, thereby restricting the heat transfer to and from the spring 18. The spring 18 also forms a handle for manual handling of the tool. <IMAGE> |
