The gripping member of the device is a rotary arm 1 provided with forks 2, 3 close to its free end. Its other end is articulated about a spindle 6 which is practically horizontal and parallel to the longitudinal plane of a vehicle at the rear of which it is mounted. The spindle 6 is mounted on a support which adapts to the "three point" system of an agricultural tractor.
