The invention relates to a hydraulically actuated rim brake for cycles, having a carrier (3) which is attached to a fork and on which in each case one lever (9, 10) is rotatably mounted to the left and to the right of the wheel, in each case one brake block (13) being attached to the two lever arms (11) and (12) lying opposite the rim (7) whilst in each case one piston (21, 22) of a hydraulic actuation device presses on the two other lever arms (14) and (15) counter to the effect of a spring (25). In order to permit the brake blocks to be opened simply, quickly and without tools in order to remove the wheel, it is proposed that the cylinder housing (18) of the hydraulic actuation device should be arranged on the carrier (3) so as to swivel about an axis which is parallel with the central axis of the pistons (21, 22), but so as to be axially non-displaceable. <IMAGE>
