PURPOSE:To obtain a ribbon blank material free from fraying and capable of being used for a long period of time, by a method wherein two sheets of strip form materials laminated on each other are integrated to each other at both side edge parts thereof, and at least one of the strip form materials is formed from a synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:A blank material A as one strip form material 1 let out from a roll B and a blank material C as the other strip form material 2 let out from a roll D are laminated on each other, and the laminate is passed between rolls E, F. In the next step, the laminate is cut to a predetermined width by a fusion cutting knife H, whereby the one strip form material 1 and the other strip form material 2 are welded to each other at both side edge parts thereof, and the resultant material is taken up by a roll G. The laminate thus obtained is impregnated with an ink conforming to each particular apparatus to produce a ribbon. In this case, th strip form material 2 located on the side of the knife H is preferably made of a synthetic resin, while the strip form material 1 on the other side may be formed from either a natural material or a synthetic resin. |
