PURPOSE:To improve the reproducibility of an image by electrifying again the surface of a photosensitive body with corona discharge so that this surface has the same polarity as a toner image on the photosensitive body and applying a voltage to a conductive base material to be transferred to transfer the toner image from the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:In the state where toner particles forming the toner image on a photosensitive body 2 are wet by a liquid developer, the surface of the photosensitive body 2 is electrified again (secondary electrification) by a corona electrode 3 so that this surface has the same polarity as the toner image, and an approximately uniform polarity is supplied to the surface of the photosensitive body including the toner image. A conductive base material 9 to be transferred is approximated onto the photosensitive body 2, and a high voltage is applied from a DC voltage power source 10 to it. Then, a strong electric field is generated between the conductive base material 9 to be transferred and a conductive substrate 1, and toner particles 8 forming the toner image are moved forcibly to the conductive base material 9 to be transferred, and thus, the toner image on the photosensitive body 2 is transferred to the conductive base material 9. |
