Hitherto, frame-like inclined boards have been used as training equipment for exercises to strengthen the abdominal muscles, accommodation of these boards as home sports equipment having been difficult. The equipment according to the present invention is characterised by a shaped board, which can be put against the fossae of the knees to provide support to the back of the body when the latter assumes a bridge-shaped position with the lower legs at an angle, the part of the shaped board coming to rest against the fossae of the knees being reinforced and having a support surface for the calf muscles which is at an angle relative to the support surface of the shaped board. This permits subframes to achieve an oblique training surface to be omitted. The exercise equipment is thus restricted to an extremely flat, board-like part requiring very little space.
