One-by-one rib knit with a cord-rib effect

A one-by-one rib knit with a cord-rib effect is described. The surface structure described is to be produced by means of two-section, that is to say right/right knitting machines without additional devices. The product combines the wearing comfort of a knit, productive knitting technology and the visual appearance of a classic cord. Characteristics of the product are the cord ribs which are formed from thread floats and which, as a result of a multiple subdivision of the stitch rows forming these floats, contain at least two threads for each stitch row and thus give the rib the desired volume.
