PURPOSE:To prevent color stain and reduction in the developing power of a developing soln. even when color photographic sensitive silver chloride materials are continuously processed for a long term, by using a developing soln. of a specified pH contg. a specified polyhydroxybenzene compound and p-phenylenediamine as a color developing agnet. CONSTITUTION:A color developing soln. contg. a polyhydroxybenzene compound represented by the formula (where M is H or an alkali metal, and each of m and n is 1 or 2) by 0.2-10g per 1l developing soln. as well as p-phenylenediamine as a color developing agent is used. A preservative such as sulfite may be added in combination with the polyhydroxybenzene compound. Even when photosensitive materials each having a silver halide emulsion layer contg. AgCl- base silver halide particles are continuously processed for a long term by high- speed development with the developing soln. adjusted to 9.5-11.0pH, color images with superior gradation are obtd. without reducing the dye density or causing color stain. |
