The display of line graphics such as design drawings or land registry maps on a television monitor is considerably improved compared with known methods by the fact that the graphics for display are prepared in a black-white bit matrix which is much finer, preferably 4 x 4 times finer, than the raster which can be displayed on the monitor. From this matrix, rectangles consisting for example of 4 consecutive points on 4 lines one above the other are grouped together to form a "super pixel", the gray scale value of which corresponds to the average of the black-white values of the combined individual pixels of the group. <IMAGE> |
