In a plasma panel having spatially separated electron generation and subsequent acceleration, the control structure (4) is built up as follows: a first control plate (11) is provided on the rear and front sides with line conductors (14) and column conductors (15) respectively. A second control plate (13), placed in front of said first control plate (11), carries further conductors (tetrode conductors 16) on at least one of its two sides, which further conductors run parallel to the conductors of one of the two other conductor families ("selection conductors"). In each case n tetrode conductors (16) are allocated to the selection conductors. Wherever its two conductor families cross, the rear control plate (11) is in each case perforated once (inlet channels 17), while the front control plate (13) has in each case one opening (outlet channel 19) at the intersection points of its tetrode conductors (16) with the conductors running at right angles thereto, so that n outlet channels are associated with each inlet channel.
