PURPOSE:To improve the control efficiency of summary information by using a summary document produced previously in case no original document related to a summary document is changed at all in the reference mode of the summary document. CONSTITUTION:When a reference request is received to a summary document, a corresponding row on a master document control list is decided by a master document identifier. Then a corresponding row on a slave document control list is decided by a pointer to a slave document. The time stamps are compared with each other between master and slave documents. When the time stamp of the master document is larger than that of the slave document, a corresponding row on the next slave document control list is decoded by a pointer to the next slave document. Then the comparison of time stamps is carried out again. When the time stamps of slave documents related to master documents are all smaller than those of master documents a summary document produced previously is read by a stored address. Thus the processing is over. |
