PURPOSE:To attain small size and light weight by providing the constitution recording an effective image pickup signal of an image pickup device at a section corresponding to a part in contact with a tape, a time axis expanding circuit expanding the time axis of an output signal of the image pickup device and a display device displaying this output to give interchangeability with a conventional rotary 2-head type VTR. CONSTITUTION:A reproduced video signal appears at an output of an FM demodulating circuit 18 and the signal is fed to a reproducing terminal 15P of a recording/reproduction changeover switch 14. The time axis expansion is applied to an output of the recording/reproducing changeover switch 14. A time axis expanding circuit 19 expands the time axis of the video signal in a horizontal scanning frequency into a video signal of the normal horizontal scanning frequency. Thus, the recorded video signal or the reproduced video signal is monitored by applying an output of the time axis expansion circuit 19 to a small sized black- and-white cathode-ray tube 20. Further, an output signal of the time axis expansion circuit 19 is extracted also at a video output terminal 21. A reproduced picture of a VTR is observed by using the monitor receiver in connecting a normal monitor receiver to this video output terminal 21. |
