PURPOSE:To make it possible to perfectly seal unpurified waste gas by enabling the close contact of a seal member with the entire inner surface of a case, by forming a knitted flat material into a ring body by so as not to superpose the seal member to said flat material. CONSTITUTION:Corrugating processing is applied to both sides of a flat material formed by knitting a heat resistance fine metal wire in a flat form so as to leave a strip part 10a to the intermediate part of said flat material 10 to form a cushion part 10b. A numeral 11 shows a strip like seal part which is preliminarily cut in a length shorter than that of the strip part 10a over a predetermined length and said seal member 11 is placed on the strip part 10a to provide a lap flange (l). The seal member 11 is covered with an elongated net 12 so as to be pressed and both sides thereof are fixed to both sides of the strip part 10a by spot welding. In the next step, the flat material 10 is wound into a ring shape so as not to superpose the end parts thereof in such a state that the seal member 11 is directed to the outside and both side corrugated parts 10b of the flat material 10 are superposed and integrally fixed by spot welding to form a honeycomb support. |
